Kansas City, Mo. – With five players in double figures, the Maryville women's basketball team reached a season high in points and defeated Rockhurst 84-76 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play Monday.
Antoinette Mussorici scored a game-high 21 points, while
Haidyn Pitsch sank her first five shots from 3-point range en route to tying her career high with 19 points. The Saints won their first two GLVC games for the first time since 2014-15.

The Saints trailed 58-57 late in the third quarter but scored the last five points. Mussorici had a driving layup, and
Hunter Stidham drained a 3-pointer as Maryville took a 62-58 edge into the fourth. Mussorici sank a jumper to start the final quarter. The Hawks scored their first point in nearly four minutes before another Stidham triple pushed the edge to 67-60.

Rockhurst closed to 67-65 but Pitsch splashed in her fifth trey of the night.
Taylor Kirby scored eight straight points to keep the Saints ahead at 78-71 with 3:27 left to play. The Hawks again inched to within 80-76 but the Saints hit four free throws in the final seconds to close out the victory.
