St. Charles, Mo. – The Maryville men's volleyball team made one of its shortest road trips of the year to St. Charles, Mo., but Lindenwood kept the Saints at bay in a 25-16, 25-11, 25-16 decision.
Mason Mortimer topped Maryville with five kills, while
Jacob Fischer hit .333 in the contest.

The Saints held a one-point lead in the early portion of set one and went up 12-11 after Mortimer put down a kill. The Lions pushed ahead to 16-13 before an error brought Maryville to within two. Lindenwood took control with a late 4-0 run to grab a 1-0 lead.

Tate Sandvig opened the second set with a kill before the Lions tallied three straight. An LU error and a finish by
Luke Van Handel brought the Saints to 5-3. The squads traded points before a short 3-0 burst put the Lions up 14-8. Fischer stopped the run by terminating a ball but the Lions scored seven of the next eight points to pull away.

Victor Ganev served an ace to deadlock the third set at 3-3. Lindenwood scored five unanswered points before the Saints scored their next point. Lindenwood led 15-7 until Sandvig cranked in a kill and an LU error brought Maryville to 16-8. Fischer and Sandvig notched consecutive kills for the Saints before Lindenwood closed out the match.
