St. Louis - The Maryville softball team extended its Great Lakes Valley Conference start to a school record seven straight wins before William Jewell finally halted the Saints streak. Maryville claimed game one 6-2 before the Cardinals took the second 13-2.

Kylie Swinney walked with the bases loaded in the first to force home the opening run of the game.
Emily Corona had a single to start the second, and
Melanie Nelson tripled her home.
Taylor Shingler beat out a bunt for an RBI and later took second.
Erin Sammelmann singled to right to score Shingler for a 4-0 lead. The Cardinals finally touched Maryville starter
Reagan Smith for two runs in the top of the sixth. The Saints answered in the bottom of the sixth with RBIs from Shingler and
Emersen Heron to seal the win.
Reagan Smith had five strikeouts and did not issue a walk to notch the win in the circle. The victory allowed the Saints to start league play 7-0 for the first time.

The Cardinals pushed across five runs in two innings to take the early lead.
Melanie Nelson had a single before Corona cranked a triple to right to get the Saints on the scoreboard in the second. In the third inning, Shingler singled to left but the ball bounced over the fielder's head and allowed her to reach third base.
Taylor Duff doubled down the line in left to pull the Saints to within 5-2. However, the Cardinals pulled away in the fourth inning to end Maryville's seven-game winning streak.
