Kansas City, Mo. – The Maryville women's lacrosse team traveled to Kansas City, Mo., for a non-conference tilt at Rockhurst but the Hawks registered a 19-4 win Saturday. The loss halted the Saints' two-game winning streak. Claire Martin led Maryville with two goals, while Julia Banfield also had two points on one goal and one assist.

The Saints fell behind 3-0 before Lexi Taylor fired in her seventh goal of the season to cut the deficit to 3-1. However, Rockhurst scored two more times for a 5-1 lead after the opening 15 minutes. The Saints nearly pulled one score back but Taylor's shot was saved. The Hawks slowly built an 11-1 lead by the break.
 
The Saints looked to stay on level terms in the second half, and Claire Martin netted the team's second goal midway through the third quarter. Julia Banfield scored late in the third, and Martin tallied her second of the day to trim Rockhurst's advantage to 14-4. However, the Saints were unable to chop the deficit to single digits in the fourth quarter.
