St. Louis - For the first time in program history, the Maryville men's tennis team defeated the University of Missouri-St. Louis. On a cool and windy Tuesday, the Saints prevailed over the Tritons 6-1. UMSL had won all six previous meetings between the teams.

Jack Beuttell-Triggs and
Yann Frezouls won their match at No. 2 doubles 6-4.
Erik Aarthun and
Juan Suero prevailed at No. 3 doubles by a 6-1 score to give Maryville the first team point of the day.

In singles,
Mario Aleksic came back for a 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 1. Buettell-Triggs eased to a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 2.
Juan Suero claimed a 6-1, 6-1 decision at No. 6 as the Saints locked up the team victory with three singles decisions.
Sebastian Trigosso won a 4-6, 7-6, 10-6 count at No. 4 singles, and Frezouls took his tilt at No. 5 with a 4-6, 6-1, 10-8 decision.

The Saints are next in action Saturday, April 2, when they host Lindenwood for a match that is back in Forest Park at Dwight Davis.
