St. Charles, Mo. – The Maryville women's lacrosse team took on No. 8 Lindenwood but the host Lions grabbed an early lead and eased to a 21-2 win Sunday.

The Lions jumped out to a quick start by scoring the first five of the game. Hynes got the Saints on the board with a goal at the 5:11 mark of the first quarter. Lindenwood tacked on another five goals to grab a 9-1 lead after one. The Saints were unable to crack the scoresheet in the second as the Lions took a 13-1 edge into the break. Downs slid in the second score for the Saints but that would prove to be the final tally in the game for Maryville. Â
