ST. LOUIS – The Saints exploded for 13 runs against Missouri S&T on Tuesday afternoon to take their fourth win in a row.

After holding the Saints scoreless in the first, the Miners posted five runs in the bottom half to jump ahead early. Maryville responded in the top of the second with a bases-loaded walk from
Michael Gould and a two-RBI single from
Elias Stevens.

Reliever
Cole Anderson worked out of a jam in the bottom of the second to keep the lead at two runs and the offense took it from there. In the top of the third,
Tyler Ward tripled to bring home
Camden Ruby and
Jamie Young to tie the game.
Jackson Burrell and Gould picked up an RBI each to take a 7-5 lead.

With the bullpen putting the home team on lockdown over the next few frames, the offense continued to build up a lead. Young hit a solo home run in the fourth to extend the lead to three. In the fifth, Stevens brought in a pair with another single followed later by
Jaheim Adams' RBI single.

Stevens picked up his fifth RBI of the game in the sixth and Adams continued his hot day with an RBI single later in the inning.

Now in a 13-5 deficit, Missouri S&T attempted to mount a comeback with one in the sixth, one in the seventh, and two in the eighth.

After starting the day as the DH, Young was called upon to finish off the Miners in the ninth and worked around a two-out walk to seal up the Saints' fourth victory in a row.Â
