St. Louis – The Maryville women's lacrosse team dropped an overtime heartbreaker as Lewis edged the Saints 10-9 on a goal in the second minute of the extra session.
Jessie Hynes rifled in a hat trick to boost the Maryville offense, while
Ronnie Skorcz finished with three points on a goal and two assists.
Jo Miles made a season-high 16 saves in the game, one short of the school record.

The Flyers led 3-1 until goals by
Reagan Rukstad and
Haley Downs tied the game at 3-3. After Lewis retook the lead, the Saints surged in front on the strength of scores by
Julia Banfield and
Katie Von Mecklenburg. Lewis tallied the final two goals of the second quarter for a 6-5 lead at the half, and opened the third with two scores for an 8-5 lead.

Skyler Jolie fired in a goal that started a 4-0 burst by the Saints. Hynes opened the fourth quarter with a goal, and Skorcz scored her goal on the day. Hynes capped the outburst with a tally for a 9-8 lead with 6:42 left to play. Lewis forced overtime by tying the game 9-9 with just under three minutes remaining. The Saints had three chances in the final minute but were stopped from scoring the game winner.

Lewis won the draw control to start overtime, and the Flyers earned a free position shot. Carlie Serritella converted for the Flyers at the 1:38 mark to win it for the visitors.
