Lebanon, Ill. - The Maryville women's tennis team closed out the regular season by rolling to a 5-2 victory at McKendree Saturday in Lebanon, Ill.
 
The Saints set the early tone by sweeping all three doubles contests. Carolina Velazquez and Emily Orlove cruised to a 6-1 triumph at No. 1. Nicole Pafundi and Maria Paula Suarez posted a 6-2 win at the second doubles slot, while Maria Gouveia and Victoria Lisson posted a victory by the same scoreline.
 
Velazquez won at No. 2 singles with a 6-3, 6-1 decision, and Orlove went the distance in a 7-5. 6-7 (6-8), 6-4 marathon at No. 3. Pafundi worked for a 6-2, 7-6 (7-1) victory at No. 4. Gouveia eased to a 6-2, 6-0 at the sixth position.
 
The Saints will next be in action Friday, April 29, for the start of the 2022 Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships at Dwight Davis Tennis Center in Forest Park.
