ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Maryville baseball finishes its season with a 32-20 overall record after getting eliminated from the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship Baseball Tournament on Saturday morning. The Saints dropped their final contest of the tournament to the Flyers with a 5-4 final score.

The Flyers struck for three runs in the bottom of the first to a jump out to a quick lead, but the Saints responded in the top of the second.
Michael Gould got hit by a pitch with one out followed by a
Ben Hopkins single to left to advance the runner to third.
Nick Hofmann stepped up two batters later with two outs and drilled a single through the left side to plate the first run.

The Maryville offense continued its momentum into the top of the third.
Dominic Connolly led off the inning with a single and came in to score on
Joey Polak's game-tying two-run blast.
Alex Hoff later singled and scored the go-ahead run on another hit from Hopkins.

Lewis tallied one in the fourth and one in the fifth to take back the lead and to drive starting pitcher
Ryan Louck from the ball game. Once they had the lead, the Flyers never looked back.

After sending in Jake Lotz in relief, the left-hander threw six shutout innings out of the bullpen to eliminate the Saints from the GLVC tournament with a 5-4 final.
