Romeoville, Ill. – The Maryville women's volleyball team dropped its second straight match to a ranked opponent as No. 15 Lewis claimed a 25-12, 25-9, 25-15 decision in the Great Lakes Valley Conference opener.
Abbie Schnell recorded a double-double on 10 assists and 11 digs, while
Taylor Hasbrook led the Saints with 15 dig.

In the opening set, the Saints forged a 3-3 tie before the Flyers went on a 4-0 run.
Caroline Glastetter recorded a kill to get Maryville back on track. Lewis used a 9-2 burst to take control. The Saints scored the first two points of set two on a kill by
Abbie Schnell and an
Ella Brinkmann ace.
Grace Knadler tied the set at 4-4 with a service ace. The Flyers went on an 8-1 run and slowly pulled away in set two.

Karolina Rodowski notched a kill to bring the Saints to within 7-5 in the early portion of set three. The deficit stood at 9-6 before the Flyers scored four straight and six of the next seven points. Maryville got as close as seven points but Lewis held off the late rush by the Saints.
