Owensboro, Ky. – After opening the season with six straight victories, the Maryville women's volleyball squad saw its winning streak end on day two of the Kentucky Wesleyan Tournament. The Saints were edged out by Purdue Northwest 25-16, 25-23, 20-25, 31-29 but rebounded with a straight-set triumph over Kentucky Wesleyan 25-21, 25-16, 26-17. Maryville ups its record to 7-1 this season for the program's best start to a season since 1993.

Despite recording 15 more kills and nine more digs than the Pride, the Saints saw their season-opening streak end in four sets.
Ella Brinkmann recorded another double-double on 21 kills and 21 digs to spark the Maryville attack.
Caroline Glastetter hit .346 with 10 kills, while
Makenna Brauman added eight kills.

Caroline Glastetter added 12 kills and a .409 hitting percentage. Holding a 10-9 edge in the opener, the Saints reeled off seven straight points to grab the momentum. KWC closed to within three but Maryville held on for the win. In the second set, the Saints hit .400 on 16 kills versus only two errors. Tied at 13-13,
Grace Graham notched back-to-back kills that ignited a 6-0 burst. Maryville closed the set with four straight points. Holding a narrow 15-14 lead in the final set,
Karolina Rodowski's kill began a quick 4-0 run. Maryville again closed with a rush in scoring the final three points of the match.
