Indianapolis - Maryville University redshirt freshman Donavan Whitted was selected the Great Lakes Valley Conference Wrestler of the Week as announced Tuesday, Jan 24.
 
Wrestling in the 157 weight class, Whitted posted a crucial victory over Indianapolis' Logan Bailey, who was ranked fourth in the country in the weight class. Whitted's efforts helped the Saints take down UIndy, which is ranked sixth in the latest NWCA poll, in a dual match.
 
This is the first Wrestler of the Week award in Whitted's career. The last Saint to pick up the honor was Bret Heil Nov. 22, 2022. Whitted and the Saints are next in action as they host McKendree Wednesday, Jan. 25, in a 7 p.m. GLVC dual in Moloney Arena.
