Ben Palacios popped in 19 points and six rebounds but the Maryville men's basketball team lost a 70-62 contest at Quincy Saturday afternoon.
Jaeden Smith sank three 3-pointers and finished with nine points, while
Dewayne Vass handed out seven assists for the offense.

Tied at 28-all at halftime, QU scored the first two points of the second half until the Saints reeled off six straight points.
Tutu Chisholm scored on a layup, and Palacios knocked down a jumper.
Harrison Vickers scored inside as the Saints went up 34-31 two minutes after the break. Â QU tied the score at 37-37 before
Dewayne Vass tallied four in-a-row for Maryville and a 41-37 cushion.

The Saints went back up 43-42 when Palacios converted a layup with 9:58 to play in the game. However, the Hawks scored the next 10 points to grab a 52-43 edge.
Jaeden Smith drilled a 3-pointer to start a comeback for Maryville. After one QU free throw, Smith and
Dylan Ingram scored layups as the Saints drew to within 53-51 with 4:59 to go. The Hawks went on another 7-0 burst but the Saints never got closer than seven points the rest of the way.
