Hammond, Ind. – The Maryville volleyball squad closed out play at the Midwest Crossover Tournament with a 3-1 victory over Purdue Northwest Saturday morning. The Saints posted a 25-21, 22-25, 25-13, 26-24 win as
Ella Brinkmann led the way with 19 kills while hitting .500 and completing a double-double with a team-high 17 digs.

The Pride roared out to a 7-1 lead and still led 14-7 before the Saints stormed back.
Taylor Keck's kill sparked a run of six straight points, and her kills pulled the Saints back to 14-13. Still trailing 19-18, Maryville finally pulled ahead when Brinkmann and
Caroline Glastetter sandwiched kills around a PNW error for a 21-19 lead. Kills by Brinkmann and Keck gave the Saints the win in set one. The Pride used a big run late and pulled even in set two.
The Saints had their highest hitting percentage of the match at .417 to roll to the win in set three. Maryville scored a stunning 11 straight points to break a 6-6 tie and run out to a 17-6 lead. A block by Brinkmann and
Ella Kosky ended the set at 25-13. In the fourth set, the Saints scored four straight points to snare an 8-4 edge. After a PNW error,
Lynsey Batson put down a kill. The Pride committed another error, and a kill by Brinkmann build a four-point lead. At 8-5, the Saints took control with a 9-0 to extend their lead to 17-5. PNW used an 8-0 run to get back into the set and eventually went up 23-22.
Hanna Dressing and Brinkmann had kills to earn match point. PNW saved the first but back-to-back Brinkmann kills ended the match 26-24.
