St. Louis – The Maryville men's basketball team moved past Missouri Valley Saturday afternoon with a 76-56 victory. The Saints shot 51.6 percent from the field and forced the Vikings into 23 turnovers.
Luke Williams topped Maryville with 17 points, while
Colin Schuler hit 6-of-7 shots and finished with 15 points.
Dewayne Vass added 12 points and seven assists.
Missouri Valley recap
Up 29-26, the Saints scored 12 of the next 14 points before halftime. Williams knocked down a jumper, and Vass scored three straight. Schuler grabbed an offensive board for a put back. Vass hit two free throws, and Williams followed with a triple. Missouri Valley scored just before halftime to make it 41-28.

The Vikings chipped away at their deficit and got as close at 49-45. The Saints steadied themselves when
Trey Redd converted on a drive, and
Ari Jackson scored off an offensive board. Up 53-47, Maryville reeled off 14 consecutive points.
Tutu Chisholm and Vass both sank two free throws apiece as the lead grew to double digits. Chisholm hit another at the line, and Holden scored on a drive. Williams drained a triple, and after a Schuler dunk and one free throw, the Saints led 67-47. The gap grew to as many as 25 as the Saints picked up their third win of the season.
