INDIANAPOLIS – Maryville men's soccer will take on McKendree University in its third NCAA Division II Sweet 16 appearance in the last four seasons. The Saints will play the Bearcats on the campus of the University of Indianapolis on Friday, Dec. 1, at 11 a.m. (CT).

In the NCAA First Round,
Mason Crew tallied five points including the game-tying and game-winning goals in a 4-3 overtime win over Parkside. The Saints fell behind on three separate occasions but battled for the comeback victory. On Sunday, Nov. 19, the men won 2-0 in a shutout against first-seeded Tiffin University behind goals from
Tim Smith and
Jimmy Doherty.

McKendree University is fresh off its first NCAA Tournament win in program history with a 1-0 overtime victory against fifth-seeded Southern Nazarene University. The Bearcats got nine saves from goalkeeper Christian Herluf in the match before Fred Nielsen's game-winner in the second overtime sent them to the third round.

This is the third meeting between these two programs in 2023. The teams ended in a scoreless draw on Oct. 6, at Maryville before a 1-0 Bearcat win in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Quarterfinals knocked the Saints out of the conference tournament.
