St. Louis –
Carsyn Fearday tied her career high with 24 points but the Maryville women's basketball team fell to Quincy 66-53 Saturday afternoon. She sank 10-of-16 shots from the field to match her previous career outing of 24 versus William Jewell.

The Saints scored the first six points of the game to grab the early lead.
Antoinette Mussorici converted a driving layup, and
Carsyn Fearday made two straight layups. Quincy closed to 8-6 but Fearday answered for a 12-6 advantage. The Hawks cut the margin to 13-12 by the end of the first quarter. QU went on a 14-2 run early in the second to grab a double-digit lead. The Saints answered with six straight.
Madyson Rigdon scored on a driving layup, and Mussorici followed.
Kamryn Winch grabbed an offensive rebound and her put back pulled the Saints to 26-22. However, the Hawks led 32-24 at halftime.

The Saints stayed close and a three-point play by Fearday trimmed the QU lead down to 40-33. The Hawks pushed their advantage back to double digits by the end of the third quarter.
Gracie Stugart and Mussorici drained consecutive 3-pointers to start the fourth. Fearday sank two free throws and a layup to pull the Saints back to 50-45 with just under six minutes left. However, the Hawks answered with an 11-0 run to seize control down the stretch.
