St. Louis – The Maryville men's basketball team snapped a seven-game skid versus Missouri-St. Louis as the Saints posted a 72-63 triumph Thursday in Moloney Arena.
Ben Palacios scored 19, and
Dylan Ingram posted 12 points and nine rebounds.
Tutu Chisholm hauled down 11 rebounds, while
Trey Redd and
Dewayne Vass scored 13 and 11 points, respectively. Vass also handed out eight assists and recorded three steals.

The Tritons led for most of the first half and were up 38-31 five minutes after halftime.
Harrison Vickers and
Trey Redd sank consecutive 3-pointers to pull the Saints to within one. After two UMSL free throws, Chisholm sank a layup and Ingram sank one free throw to forge a 40-40. He missed the second free throw but the Saints grabbed the rebound and Ingram drilled a 3-pointer from the top of the key to give the Saints a 43-40 led at the 9:42 mark.

Redd had a three-point play as the Saints extended their advantage to 49-44.
Dewayne Vass made two free throws, and after an UMSL bucket, Palacios stopped any Triton momentum with a 3-pointer for a 62-52 lead with 1:58 remaining. Maryville converted seven of eight free throws down the stretch to put the game away.

The Saints had four players sink three 3-pointers apiece as Maryville hit half of its attempts from beyond the arc (12-of-24). The Maryville defense limited the Tritons to just 35.6 percent shooting.
