St. Louis – The Maryville women's basketball team was looking to extend its winning streak to three but Missouri S&T rallied late to trip up the Saints 64-60 Saturday afternoon.
Haidyn Pitsch topped the team with 18 points, and
Carsyn Fearday added 14.
Taylor Kirby recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Missouri S&T recap
Down 37-31 early in the third, the Saints used a 12-0 run to jump in front. Kirby scored on a layup and added a free throw. Fearday knocked down a 3-pointer, and
Hunter Stidham did the same from deep to put the Saints on top. A Pitsch triple handed the Saints a 43-37 lead at the 6:51 mark. The Miners chipped away at their deficit but the Saints still led 50-46 heading to the fourth.

Pitsch sank a jumper as Maryville's margin was 55-49 with seven minutes to play. The Miners slowly rallied to tie the score before Kirby scored in the lane for a 60-58 lead with 3:57 remaining. Missouri S&T followed with a 3-pointer to retake a 61-60 advantage. The Saints had two shots to take the lead but misfired. The Miners had the ball late, missed and banked in a second-chance shot with 9.6 seconds left to play. The Saints had a final attempt to tie the game but the triple misfired and the Miners sank one free throw to seal the win.
