TAMPA, Fla. – Maryville University baseball dropped its final game to the fifth-ranked University of Tampa on Sunday, falling to 0-3 to begin the season.

E.J. Doskow started the bottom of the second with a double for Tampa, jolting a five-run inning for the home team. They added another in the bottom of the fourth on a sacrifice fly to extend the lead to 6-2.

UT continued to stifle the Maryville offense and tallied two more in the sixth to push the lead to six runs. Alex Canney closed out the game with a three-inning save to wrap up an 8-2 win for the Spartans.
