St. Louis – The Maryville men's volleyball team won the opening set against No. 11 Missouri Baptist but the Spartans rallied for a 3-1 victory. MBU won 23-25, 25-17, 25-14, 25-16.
Jacob Fischer led the Saints with seven kills and added three blocks.
Caden Klingbeil added six kills, while
Drew Rogers finished with four kills and four blocks.

Set one was close throughout and featured 13 ties. The score was deadlocked at 20-20 before
Victor Ganev pounded down a kill.
Westin Roy served an aced for a 22-20 edge. MBU got one point back but two straight errors pushed the Saints to set point. The Spartans saved two before Klingbeil's kill ended the set for the Saints.

MBU scored three straight points midway through set two to grab an 11-8 edge. Maryville closed the gap to two before the Spartans took control with a 4-1 run. The Saints got back to within four points but Missouri Baptist held on to even the match.

In set three, Maryville roared out to an 8-5 lead but the Spartans reeled off seven straight points to surge ahead. After a Maryville time out, MBU scored another six consecutive points to take command and a 2-1 lead in sets.

 The fourth set was tied at 3-3 until the Spartans went on a 7-2 burst. Maryville scored four of six points and made it 15-10. MBU tacked on a 4-0 run to pull away. The Saints cut the deficit to eight but never got any closer.
