St. Louis – The Maryville men's basketball team led for most of the way but William Jewell rallied to topple the Saints 71-66.
Ben Palacios led Maryville with 18 points, while
Dylan Ingram added 11 points.
Dewayne Vass finished with 10 points and seven assists, and
Tutu Chisholm pulled down 10 rebounds.

The Saints were holding a 16-15 edge before embarking on a 9-2 run.
Dylan Ingram nailed a 3-pointer, and
Dewayne Vass scored on a layup.
Trey Redd sank consecutive layups for a 25-17 cushion. The Cardinals cut into the Maryville margin but
Ben Palacios' jumper was good for a 30-24 edge. Ingram sank all three of his 3-point field goal attempts in the opening 20 minutes.

Early in the second half,
Tutu Chisholm threw down a dunk, and Vass scored on a drive. The Cardinals pulled to within 36-31 but the Saints answered with five straight.
JT Morgan completed a three-point pay and an Ingram layup was good for a 41-31 lead with 15:28 to play. William Jewell crept to within 41-39. Palacios sank two free throws and to push the Saints advantage to 43-39. The Cardinals scored five-in-a-row but Palacios answered for a 45-44 margin.

William Jewell went in front 52-47 until the Saints scored six straight. Palacios scored in the lane,
Colin Schuler sank two free throws and a Morgan bucket pushed the Saints into the lead at 53-52 with 5:44 remaining. The Cardinals answered with five straight. Palacios drilled a triple to pull Maryville to 59-58 with 3:50 to play. William Jewell scored the next six points to take a 65-58 advantage. The Saints cut the lead down to three on three occasions, the last on a
Trey Redd 3-pointer with six seconds to play. However, the Cardinals sank both ends of a one-and-one in the waning seconds to hold on for the victory.
