ST. LOUIS – The Saints extended their winning streak to eight games on Saturday afternoon behind five strong innings from
Jamie Young on the mound and 17 runs from the offense. Maryville opened the game with a trio of runs in the top of the first and proceeded to score in every inning but the third. Â

Jack Zebig and
Michael Gould but struck out the next two hitters.
Matt Schuler then came up with two outs and tripled down the right-field line for two RBI.
Jacob Hager singled to left to bring in the third run of the frame.

Maryville added another in the second before a solo home run from
Andy Bunton in the fourth, his second home run of the season. In the fifth,
Michael Gould came around to score on two Bearcat errors,
Zeb Roos walked, and
Elias Stevens doubled him home to make the lead 7-0.

The Saints continued to pile it on with eight runs in the sixth and one in the seventh before reliever
Drake Downing closed the short-game victory with two scoreless innings out of the bullpen.
