St. Louis – The Maryville men's lacrosse team scored eight of nine goals during a key stretch to roll to a 12-5 victory over visiting Colorado State Pueblo.
Ethan Olson had a hat trick, while
Reid Usrey notched two goals and two assists. The Saints defense kept CSUP scoreless for nearly 21 minutes to key the victory.

Clayton Cerett fired in the opening goal just 47 seconds into the contest. CSUP scored two straight before the Saints roared back with four unanswered goals. Olson tallied back-to-back goals to put the Saints on top 3-2. Usrey notched a man-up goal, before a
Connor Kvaal score made it 5-2. After CSUP pulled one back, Olson completed his hat trick, and Cerett notched another to make it 7-3 at halftime.

The Saints took control in the third as they shut out the visitors in the quarter. Kvaal tacked on his second, and
Justin Simonson found the back of the net.
Andrew Skifstad won the ensuing faceoff, grabbed the ground ball and rifled in a goal. Usrey made it 11-3. The Maryville defense kept the Thunderwolves off the scoreboard until the visitors finally scored again early in the fourth.
Jaxon Snyder made seven saves to pick up the victory in the nets. The Saints won 12 of 19 faceoffs, including
Cooper George taking 7-of-9 at the dot.
