St. Louis - The Maryville men's tennis team hosted local rival Missouri Baptist for a match at the Maryville Athletic Complex that saw the visiting Spartans emerge with a 4-1 win Tuesday afternoon.

Sebastian Trigosso took four games in their No. 1 doubles match but the Spartans gained one point 6-4. In the No. 2 doubles position,
Yann Frezouls Juan Suero extended the match before MBU edged out a 7-5 win.

In singles action, Suero was the victor at No. 4 as he posted a 6-1, 7-5 win. However, the Spartans took decisions at No. 2 and No. 3 singles to close out the team competition. Aleksic won set one at the top singles position but the match was heading to a third set before the team decision halted the match.

The Saints will next be in action when they host Southwest Baptist Friday, March 24, in a contest that will be held at Woodsmill Racquet Club.
