Lexi Taylor poured in a career-high four goals and
Jessie Hynes notched a hat trick and a school record four assists to guide the Maryville women's lacrosse to a 17-10 triumph at Rockhurst. The Saints outscored the Hawks 9-3 after halftime to pull away for their 11th straight victory to open the season.

Rockhurst recap
Skyler Jolie and Taylor scored to give the Saints a 2-1 lead but Rockhurst rallied to build a 3-2 lead after the opening quarter. Hynes scored her first of the day to start the second, and
Tia Sansone notched back-to-back goals for a 5-3 edge. Rockhurst tied the game at 5-all but
Helen Bae and
Reagan Rukstad answered as the Saints went back on top 7-5. The Hawks again came back to tie the score at 7-7 but Taylor tallied just before halftime as the Saints went into the break holding an 8-7 edge.

The Hawks went back in front with the first two scores in the third but the Saints rampaged back with four unanswered goals. Hynes picked up a score and fired in a free-position shot.
Sydney Tiemann, broke into the scoring column with a goal and, Bae's goal late put the Saints ahead 12-9.

Rockhurst tallied the first goal of the final quarter to make it 12-10 but the Saints reeled off the final five scores to seal the victory.
Skyler Jolie started the run with a score, and Taylor's final two goals closed the game.
Jo Miles came up with 10 saves on the day to backstop the defense.

The Saints return home for the Great Lakes Valley Conference opener as they host McKendree Friday, March 31, in a 4 p.m. start at the Maryville Athletic Complex. Maryville won the first meeting by a 20-8 score line back on Feb. 28, in Lebanon, Ill.
