St. Louis – The Maryville women's lacrosse team used a big third quarter to extend its school record winning streak to five with a 21-11 triumph over previously unbeaten Northern Michigan.
Sydney Tiemann fired in six goals and added an assist, and
Helen Bae recorded five goals.
Reagan Rukstad totaled six points on four goals and two assists, while
Jessie Hynes set a school record with four assists.

Down 1-0, Tiemann and
Lexi Taylor scored consecutive player-up goals as the Saints took the lead. The score was tied four more times before Bae tallied twice to close out the second quarter for an 8-6 lead at halftime.

NMU opened the scoring in the third but the Saints roared back with seven unanswered goals to take command. Bae answered less than a minute later, and Rukstad found the back of the net two straight times. Tiemann and Hynes scored, before Bae and
Katie Von Mecklenburg tallied for a 15-7 advantage. The Wildcats finally broke through the Maryville defense for a goal, but Bae scored again as the Saints doubled up NMU 16-8. The Saints tacked on five more goals in the fourth to close out the contest.
