ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Maryville University softball dropped a pair of games on Saturday to the University of Missouri – St. Louis. The Saints fell 4-1 in game one and 11-2 in game two to move them to 25-17 in 2023.
Game One Recap
UMSL picked up a run in the first inning of game one after a double and a Saints throwing error.
Emily Corona led off the bottom of the first with a single, stole second, and came in to score on an RBI groundout from
Kylie Swinney.
Maryville threatened in the bottom of the second by putting runners on second and third with two outs, but the Tritons worked out of the jam with a strikeout. Both sides exchanged scoreless innings until the fifth when a leadoff double set the stage for an RBI single from Riley Schultz to give the Tritons a lead.
UMSL tallied two more in the top of the sixth before Annie Scaramuzzi finished up a complete game in the circle to hand the Saints their third loss in the last four games.

Game Two Recap
After a scoreless inning from starter
Chayse Ramey in the first, UMSL scored five runs on two hits and two errors in the second. The Saints struck back in the bottom half when Ramey helped herself with a two-RBI single to center that brought in Corona and
Mandi Lenon.
The Tritons scored four more on three hits and two errors in the third and extended the lead to 11-2 in the fifth. Jenna Towle ended her complete game victory and 11
th win of the season by striking out the side in the bottom of the fifth.
