Indianapolis – The Maryville women's lacrosse team exploded for nine straight goals in the third quarter and advanced to the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament finals with a 20-12 victory over Rockhurst. The No. 2 seeded Saints will face top-seed Indianapolis in the GLVC title game Sunday, April 30, at 11 a.m. CT / Noon ET at Key Stadium on the UIndy campus.
Helen Bae led the team with six points on five goals and one assist, while
Sydney Tiemann finished with five goals.

Rockhurst recap
The Hawks took the early lead and held a 4-2 edge after the first quarter.
Lexi Taylor tallied a player-up goal, and
Jessie Hynes also scored with the Saints with the advantage.
Katie Von Mecklenburg found the back of the net at the 6:29 mark as Maryville grabbed its first lead of the night.
Helen Bae pushed the cushion to 6-4. The Hawks cut the gap to 7-6 but
Skyler Jolie scored a big goal with seven seconds left in the half for an 8-6 advantage at the break. The late score seemed to charge up the Maryville offense in the second half.

Hynes fired in a goal just 29 seconds into the third, and Jolie notched another for an 11-6 margin.
Reagan Rukstad, and Tiemann scored in an 80-second span, and Bae notched another. Rukstad was successful on a free position shot as the lead ballooned to double digits at 16-6. Tiemann tacked on another for a 17-6 edge before Rockhurst finally scored to break a drought that lasted nearly 17 minutes.

Bae and Tiemann tallied early in the fourth as the Saints took a 19-8 lead and cruised to their 17th victory of the season.
