Chayse Ramey and
Emersen Heron pitched the Saints to a pair of wins over Truman State University on Friday, extending Maryville's winning streak to nine games.

Game One Recap
Truman State opened up the game in the first with an RBI double to left-center. An RBI groundout by Maryville shortstop
Erin Sammelmann in the bottom half tied the game at one.

Truman State took a 3-1 lead in the top of the third, but the Saints exploded for six runs in the fourth inning. Singles from
Taylor Duff,
Taylor Shingler, and
Emily Corona brought the game to within one.
Melanie Nelson and Sammelmann walked, bringing up
Kylie Swinney who singled home a pair of runners. An error on the next play followed by a double steal extended the lead to 7-3.

Maryville added three more in the bottom of the sixth, while
Emily Senjan wrapped up
Emersen Heron's start with a scoreless inning of work in the seventh. Heron went six innings, allowing two earned with one strikeout.

Game Two Recap
Chayse Ramey got the nod in the second game looking to extend the team's winning streak to nine games. She worked a scoreless first and got some run support when an RBI bunt single from Swinney brought home Nelson.

In the bottom of the second, the Saints extended their lead to 2-0 when Shingler doubled to left-center, stole third, and came in on an infield single from Nelson. The Bulldogs got one back in the top of the third to pull within one.

The rest of the game was a pitcher's duel, but Ramey prevailed, turning in a complete-game win. The junior from Decatur, Ill., earned her seventh win of 2023 after picking up four strikeouts while allowing just four hits and no earned runs.
