Madison, Ill. - The Maryville men's golf team opened the 2023 fall season with a sixth-place finish at the Arch Cup held at Gateway National Golf Links in Madison, Ill. The Saints posted rounds of 295-297=592 in the field of 13 teams. Max Hsu finished ninth overall with scores of 72-72=144 out of 88 golfers.
 
Austin Fauser was second for Maryville and tied for 18th at 77-70=147. His round two score was one-under-par and the best of the tournament for the Saints. Drew Barclay shot 72-80=152, while Hsiang-Chih Hsu carded rounds of 82-75 in his first collegiate tournament. Michael Wu shot 74-86=160 to round out the Maryville efforts.
 
Playing as individuals, James Casserly came home at 77-73=150, Alan Kuo finished at 80-75=155, while Max Boland shot 82-80-162. McKendree took the team title at 577, while Missouri S&T's Jeppe Thybo topped the leaderboard at 137 to claim medalist honors.
 
The Saints are next in action at the UIndy Invitational which runs Sept. 25-26 at Broadmoor Country Club in Indianapolis.
