Caroline Glastetter hammered down 12 kills while hitting .476 as the Maryville volleyball team handed Nova Southeastern its first loss with a 25-17, 25-16, 25-20 sweep in Palm Beach, Fla., Friday afternoon. The Saints hit a season-best .298 while committing just eight errors in the match.

Trailing 9-3 in the opening set,
Ella Brinkmann's kill was the spark of a stunning 11-0 burst. After another Brinkmann kill, Maryville's defense forced three straight errors.
Hanna Dressing tied the set before a block by Glastetter and Dressing put the Saints ahead 10-9. After an NSU error, Brinkmann and Dressing sandwiched kills around an ace by
Rachel Schipper as the Saints took control.

Maryville led in second two 12-10 before tallying seven unanswered points.
Makenna Brauman started the run with a kill, and after an NSU miscue, Schipper served up an ace. After a Glastetter kill, Schipper aced NSU two straight times. A Nova error put the Saints on top 19-10 and an eventual 2-0 lead.

The Saints reeled off seven straight points to take control of the final set. Brauman again had the first kill to begin the burst, and
Grace Knadler added a kill. Following two NSU errors, Knadler and Brauman combined on a block.
Olivia Klump served an ace, and yet another NSU miscue led to an 8-1 lead. The Saints stayed in front but Nova got as close as 22-20. But a setting error was the first of three straight Maryville points that closed out the match.
