Luke Williams sank both ends of a one-and-one with 6.5 seconds left as the Maryville men's basketball team rallied for a thrilling 70-69 victory over Rockhurst. The Saints trailed by 11 points with 2:42 left to play but came all the way back and survived a buzzer-beating attempt by Rockhurst.
Davis Walker scored a season-high 15 point to pace the Saints.
Tutu Chisholm added 12 points and snared nine rebounds. Williams finished with 12 points, while
Dewayne Vass added 10 points and five assists.

Rockhurst recap
The teams traded the lead but Rockhurst built a 44-40 advantage at the 14:13 mark. The Saints took the lead after making five free throws. The Hawks hit a bucket to go back in front 46-45 until the Saints reeled off eight straight points.
Trey Redd converted a driving layup, and
JT Morgan powered up inside for a bucket. Walker and Vass both sank jumpers as the Saints led 53-46 with 8:14 to play.

Rockhurst closed to within one point but
Ari Jackson drilled a triple for a 56-52 cushion at the 6:45 mark. The Hawks pulled off a 15-0 run to jump to an 67-56 lead and set up the dramatic Maryville comeback.

After a Vass layup, Morgan sank a 3-pointer from the top of the key, and Williams drilled a corner triple to make it 67-64. The Hawks hit two free throws for a 69-64 edge with 1:19 to play but those would prove to be their final points. Walker started the late run with a wing 3-pointer, and Morgan sank one free throw to trim the deficit to 69-68. The Saints defense stole the inbounds pass as Williams came up with the steal and was eventually fouled. He converted the one-and-one for the game-winning points.
