Mechanicsburg, Pa. – The Maryville field hockey team battled at No. 9 Mansfield before the Pioneers pulled away to down the Saints 4-1 Thursday afternoon.
Lachlan Sanders fired in Maryville's lone score of the day.

How it Happened:
The Pioneers scored early in the first quarter before the Saints responded. Maryville earned a penalty corner in the 12tht minute, and Calista Croker launched a shot on goal. The attempt was turned aside but Sanders collected the rebound and slotted in the goal that tied the score at 1-1. The Pioneers used two penalty corners in the second quarter to take a 3-1 lead at halftime.

Mansfield tacked on another score in the fourth to extend its margin. The Saints tried to rally and had consecutive shots on goal by
Alison Tom and
Tia Sansone. A few minutes later,
Cloey Turiello had an attempt turned aside. Sansone and
Dorothy Fife also had late shots but neither found the range.
