LA CROSSE, Wis. – The No. 8-ranked Maryville wrestling team suffered a 30-6 loss in their season opener against the No. 4-ranked UW-Parkside Rangers. The Saints were able to grab victories at 174 and 197 for their lone points of the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rangers were extra-point hungry to start the dual at the Wisconsin Showcase in La Crosse, Wis., as they grabbed a tech fall at 125 and then a major at 133 which quickly put the Saints down by nine. No. 7-ranked
Kody Ketchum saw a tight battle at 141 with No. 5 Cayden Henschl but gave up an escape and a take down in the third to leave that match 8-2.

The Rangers rolled from there with it taking until 174 for the Saints to find the scoring column, with
Evan Morris using an overtime takedown to grab the sudden victory.
Jeremiah Larson at 197 grabbed three takedowns, including two in the second period to etch out victory at his class.
