Crew Earns Saints First Ever Offensive Player of the Year Award

INDIANAPOLIS – History has been made for Maryville men's soccer as Mason Crew becomes the first ever Great Lakes Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Year in program history. Crew is just one of six total All-GLVC honorees for the Saints.

Crew is joined by senior forward Bryce Glisson on the first team, while Alberto Di Pierri appears on the second team and Yayo Mutombo upon the third team.

Maximilian Seiwald was named to the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship honorees list. The award honors student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These individuals must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. The honorees are now eligible to become one of their school's two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced at the end of the academic year.

The All-Conference awards are nominated and voted on by league coaches, who, per GLVC Bylaws, are not permitted to vote for their own players.

CREW – OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Crew is now the fifth major award winner for the Saints, finishing tied for the lead in points in the GLVC with 18. The theatrics were a major part of Crew's game, earning four game winners – now five on the season after his OT dagger in the GLVC quarterfinals. He ranked fourth in assists and sixth in goals in the conference while helping propel the Saints to a No. 2-seed in the GLVC Tournament.

For his efforts, Crew landed on the All-GLVC First team, his second All-GLVC honor of his career.

GLISSON – ALL-GLVC FIRST TEAM
It is the first career conference honor for Glisson. The forward out of Edwardsville, Ill. saw action in all 18 regular season games for the Saints, scoring four goals and snagging three assists. He built upon that in the GLVC quarterfinals where he assisted on all three Saints goals.  He also grabbed three game winners, including the winner against the then No. 22-ranked UIndy Greyhounds on Oct. 18.

DI PIERRI – ALL-GLVC SECOND TEAM
For Di Pierri, it is his third career All-GLVC nod. The senior from Arborio, Italy anchored the Saints backline which created eight shutouts, including a clean sheet against then No. 7-ranked McKendree on Oct. 11. He tallied 18 starts over the season, scoring two goals on just three shots on goal, including the game winner against Quincy on Senior Day.

MUTUMBO – ALL-GLVC THIRD TEAM.
Sophomore forward Mutumbo receives his first-career conference distinction. He provided key offense in the later half of the season, scoring goals against big in-region foes Wis.-Parkside and UIndy, as well as a multi-goal effort versus Truman State. He finished the season with 11 points on four goals and three assists, starting 16 of the Saints 18 regular season games.
