Maryville University junior forward Lucas Burton been selected as the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending Dec. 15, 2024. He is the first Saint to earn the award since Nolan Berry Jan. 22, 2018.
 
Burton averaged 21.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and shot 63 percent from the field in leading the Saints to two wins at Quincy's Hansen Spear Holiday Classic. He was named to the five-player All-Tournament team. Burton notched a career-high 22 points against Saginaw Valley State. He followed up with 20 points in just 18 minutes of action in a victory over Barclay, helping the Saints score their most points since Dec. 9, 2017.
 
Burton and the Saints return to the court Wednesday as Maryville hosts Culver-Stockton for a 5 p.m. game.
