St. Louis – The Maryville women's basketball team dominated the first quarter and held Missouri S&T to 25.5 percent shooting and sailed by the Miners 67-40.
Antoinette Mussorici tallied 16 points, while
Haidyn Pitsch had 12, and
Carsyn Fearday finished with 10 points.
Karlee Feldman grabbed 11 rebounds.

The Saints scored the opening six points of the game and quickly ballooned the margin 11-2. Pitsch scored on a layup, and Mussorici sank two straight jumpers. After the Miners scored, Pitsch drained a 3-pointer, and
Faith Hawthorne's layup pushed the Saints up 11-2. The Miners closed the gap to four but the Saints tallied nine straight to close the quarter. Feldman's layup to start the second pushed the margin to 22-7. The Saints led by double digits the entire quarter and a
Madyson Rigdon triple was good for a 31-18 lead at the half.

The Miners started the third quarter with a push and closed to within 33-25 but the Saints reeled off 10 straight to reestablish control. Mussorici drilled consecutive 3-pointers and Fearday added a jumper. Another score by Mussorici was good or a 43-25 advantage. A 9-0 run bridging the end of the third and the start of the fourth led to a 59-32 lead and the Saints cruised the rest of the way.
