St. Paul, Minn. – The Maryville women's lacrosse team scored nine unanswered goals and powered past Concordia St. Paul 21-5.
Sydney Tiemann tallied seven goals and added two assists for nine points, while
Jessie Hynes tied her career high of six goals and set a career best with eight points. The Maryville defense shut out the Golden Bears in the second half.

Jessie Hynes and
Kylie Pettus scored the game's first two goals within the opening two minutes. The Bears responded with three straight to take the lead.
Chloe Elliott tied the game at 3-3 but CSP went back in front. Hynes fired in a score late in the first quarter to start the massive Maryville run.

Helen Bae opened the scoring in the second quarter to put the Saints on top 5-4. Hynes scored twice in 34 seconds before Elliott and
Reagan Rukstad converted free-position shots. Hynes found the back of the net again before
Sydney Tiemann and Elliott tallied goals to cap the run for a 12-4 lead. CSP scored with just under two minutes before halftime as the Maryville defense kept the hosts scoreless for nearly 19 minutes.

Tiemann took care of all the scoring in the third quarter by recording three straight goals in differing fashion. She recorded a player-down goal, added a free-position score then scored on a player-up opportunity as Maryville's advantage grew to double figures. The Saints put the game away by scoring three goals to start the fourth quarter.

Elliott finished with a hat trick and one assist, while Bae had two goals and two assists for four points.
