Cole Ritter took fifth place at 165, while
Ryan Herman placed seventh at 285 to close out the 2024 NCAA Division II Wrestling National Championships for the Maryville University wrestling team in Park City, Kan.

Ritter began day two with an 8-5 sudden victory over No. 7 seed Anthony Herrera of St. Cloud State. However, he lost his consolation semifinal match against Central Oklahoma's No. 5 seed Hunter Jump. In the fifth-place match, Ritter was looking for a bit of revenge against No. 4 seed Nicholas Coreno of Gannon who posted a narrow 6-4 decision to start the tournament. Ritter had a takedown and near fall for a quick 5-0 lead. He added a takedown in the second and two more in the third and cruised to a 15-2 victory.

In the consolation draw for the heavyweights, Herman lost a 12-5 decision to La'Ron Parks of Notre Dame College. In the seventh-place match, Herman faced No. 7 seed Luke Tweeton from the University of Mary. Both traded one-point escapes as the match was tied 1-1 early in the third period. Herman recorded a crucial takedown at the 1:34 mark. Tweeton picked up one point on an escape but Herman held on to take the 4-2 match for seventh place.
The Saints advanced a total of four wrestlers to the national championships. As a team, Maryville finished in 20th place, as Central Oklahoma garnered the team championship.
