Denver, Colo. – In a battle of undefeated top 10 teams, the No. 9 Maryville women's lacrosse team rolled past No. 5 Regis 18-6 Saturday in Denver. The Saints took command early with a 7-0 run in the first quarter. Sydney Tiemann finished with 10 points on six goals and four assists, while Jessie Hynes had five goals, including four in the first quarter. Gianna Guzek made 11 saves and held the nation's fifth-ranked scoring offense to 12 goals below its scoring average.

The Rangers scored less than two minutes into the game but the Saints answered with a flurry of goals. Hynes pulled the Saints level to start the stunning 7-0 run. Tiemann fired in back-to-back free-position scores to put the Saints on top. Hynes scored her second of the day before Reagan Rukstad found the back of the net. Hynes capped the burst with two straight goals as the Saints surged to a 7-1 advantage. Regis scored in the final minute of the first as Maryville led 7-2. Helen Bae and Kylie Pettus sandwiched scores around two from Regis as the Saints toted a 9-4 cushion into the break.
 
Maryville put the game away in the third quarter by scoring seven times while blanking the host Rangers. The run was a part of nine straight goals by the Saints. Pettus opened the third with a goal, before Tiemann rocketed in three consecutive scores. Chloe Elliott's goal at the 4:40 mark pushed the margin to double digits. Another Tiemann score and one by Natalie Tomljenovic made it 16-4 as the Saints cruised into the fourth. No. 5 Regis is the highest ranked team the Saints have defeated in program history.
