O'FALLON, Ill. –
Chayse Ramey pitched a two-hit shutout against Davenport University to help Maryville to a 7-0 game-two win. The Saints dropped their first game on Saturday with a 4-0 final to Missouri Western State University before Ramey's gem against the Panthers.Â

Freshman starting pitcher
Mercedes Delgado kept the Griffons scoreless in the first, but they struck for one in the bottom of the second on an RBI from Abby Dickey. She settled in from there, going four innings of work while allowing three hits and no earned.

In the fifth, six hits and an error helped Missouri Western State extend the lead to 4-0. Griffons starter Sydney Rader took the run support and held the Saints to two hits and no earned runs for a complete game victory.

Chayse Ramey took the rubber for the Saints in game two and set the side down in order in the bottom of the first. In the top of the second,
Erin Wurst doubled to centerfield to bring home
Julia Lopanec from first base to open a 1-0 lead.
Kylie Swinney singled in the next at-bat, a pitch hit
Emily Corona, and
Taylor Duff brought in a run with the bases loaded on a sacrifice fly.

Cailynn Gdowski hit her second home run of the season to make it 4-0. In the fourth,
Emily Corona hit a no-doubt home run to right-center for the fifth run.Â

Ramey continued dealing, shutting the Panthers out through four frames. The offense added insurance runs with an
Isabella Garcia RBI double down the right-field line and an RBI groundout from
Payton Deakin in the sixth.

Davenport got a leadoff single in the seventh, but Ramey was up to the task, getting a pair of strikeouts and an outfield assist to end the game with a 7-0 final. The Decatur, Ill., native finished the contest with a two-hit, complete-game shutout with eight strikeouts.Â
