LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Maryville softball team's award season has begun and it has kicked off with the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region awards.
Addison Koth (DP) and
Laila Ruiz (1B) both earned spots on the second team.
For Koth, it was a career year, with the Saints' DP crushing a program record 16 home runs, breaking the single season record along the way. Over 45 games of action, Koth slashed a .346 batting average with a 1.227 OPS, highest among all Saints. Alongside her NFCA All-Region nod, she was voted to the All-GLVC First Team.
Ruiz was electric from day one in her freshman season, slugging .744 with 14 home runs, 17 doubles and a triple, the most extra-base hits among the entire team.
