Tiemann Breaks All-Time Division II Scoring Record as Saints Beat Quincy 23-7 in GLVC Semifinals

St. Louis – Sydney Tiemann fired in five goals to lead the Maryville women's lacrosse team to a 23-7 win over Quincy in the semifinals of the 2024 Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament. Her second score of the day came at the 4:41 mark of the second quarter and broke the all-time NCAA Division II scoring record with the 311th goal of her career. Tiemann surpassed the previous mark of 310 set by Hunter Isnardi of Mercy in 2019. The Saints have advanced to the GLVC Tournament finals and face Indianapolis for the title Sunday, April 28, at 11 a.m. at the Maryville Athletic Complex.

Quincy recap
Kylie Pettus scored the first goal of the game just 1:32 into the contest, and Jessie Hynes fired in a tally. Natalie Tomljenovic gave the Saints a 3-0 at the 12:17 mark. QU pulled one goal back before Helen Bae sandwiched a pair of goals around one from Chloe Elliott. The Hawks made it 6-2 but the Saints answered with four straight goals.
 
Maryville's margin was 10-3 before Tiemann tied the all-time career scoring record with a free-position shot. Tomljenovic fed Tiemann who collected the pass and fired in a low shot to break the DII scoring record. The Saints continued the offensive burst and took a 15-3 lead at halftime.
 
Quincy got as close as 18-6 but the Saints put the game away with five straight goals to move on to the GLVC finals
