Maryville University saw four student-athletes earn 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District At-Large team honors. On the women's side, bowler Anna Maxwell, and lacrosse's Sydney Tiemann earned the award. For the Saints men, wrestler Ryan Herman and lacrosse's Garrett Rivers garnered the recognition.
 
A junior on the bowling team, Maxwell earned the CSC Academic All-District honor for the second straight year. Maxwell was the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Division II Player of the Year and voted the GLVC Bowler of the Year and first-team All-GLVC. She led the Saints to their first GLVC Tournament championship and an appearance in the 2024 NCAA Tournament. Maxwell helped the Saints record 88 wins on the season and posted a pair of tournament runner-up finishes as an individual. She led the Saints in both traditional average and Baker average and was a two-time GLVC Athlete of the Week as well as earning GLVC All-Tournament honors.

Tiemann set the all-time NCAA Division II record for career goals scored with 321. She became the first player in D-I or D-II history to score at least 100 goals in two different seasons. Tiemann was voted to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and USA Lacrosse Magazine All-America First Team as well as their All-Region First Teams. She was named the GLVC Attacker of the Year and selected to All-GLVC First Team. Her efforts helped the Saints to a program-record 18 victories en route to GLVC Regular Season title and first-ever NCAA Tournament win. Tiemann contributed to DII's top-ranked scoring offense with 18.65 goals per game and plus-11.60 scoring margin in D-II. Selected as Maryville's Female Student-Athlete of the Year, Tiemann graduated with a degree in marking with a 3.51 cumulative GPA.
 
Herman is a redshirt junior for the wrestling Saints and was a 2024 NCAA DII All-American. He finished seventh at the DII Nationals at heavyweight. Herman was the 2024 Super Regional 4 Champion at 285. He defeated the No. 1 ranked wrestler in the country in the heavyweight class, who eventually won the national championship, and handed him his only loss of the season. During the regular season, Herman won the heavyweight division at the Kaufman/Brand/Bayly Open. He was a first-team All-GLVC selection and helped the Saints earn a share of the GLVC regular season title. Herman was selected the 2024 Maryville University Male Student-Athlete of the Year.

Rivers was named United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Second Team All-America, USA Lacrosse Magazine Honorable Mention All-America, and All-GLVC First Team. At the end of the season, he was chosen to play in USILA D-I/D-II Senior All-Star Game. Rivers ranked fifth in league in caused turnovers per game (1.63) and added 42 ground balls while leading the defense that held opponents to single-digit scoring in 10 games. He anchored the Maryville defense that ranked sixth nationally in clearing percentage (.907), ninth in scoring defense (9.1), and 11th in fewest turnovers per game (15.56). Rivers helped Saints to a school-record 13 wins, a share of the GLVC Regular Season title, a GLVC Tournament title game appearance, and first-ever NCAA Tournament berth. In the classroom, he collected a trio of Conference academic honors – Academic All-GLVC, Brother James Gaffney Distinguished Scholar Award, and Council of Presidents' Academic Excellence Award. Rivers graduated with a 3.91 grade point average as a data science major. Last season, he was a CSC First-Team Academic All-American.
 
The CSC Academic All-District program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. All four Maryville student-athletes advance to the Academic All-American ballot, and the teams will be announced later this summer. To qualify, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average.
