Max Hsu fired a three-round total of 221 to guide the Maryville men's golf team to sixth place at the Kansas City Cup Tournament. Over the 54 holes of action, the Saints posted team rounds of 308-295-309=912.
Hsu tied for eighth place and posted rounds of 74-70-77=221. His two-under par 70 was the second-lowest score of the second round.
Andrew Rojas was second for the Saints and came home at 232 following scores of 81-72-79.
Javier Gil Blanco was one stroke back and fired scores of 74-84-75=233, while
Quinn Thomas finished 79-74-82=235.
Hsiang-Chih Hsu improved every round and closed the tournament at 240 (83-79-78).
Rockhurst rallied to win the team title at 294-297-299 out of 13 competitors, while Bryson Oots of William Jewell took medalist honors at 211.
The Saints return to the area for their next tournament at the Midwest Regional hosted by Missouri Western State at St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Mo., Sept. 30-Oct. 1.
