In its season-opening tournament, the Maryville men's golf team took seventh place at the 2024 Arch Cup Tournament hosted at Gateway National Golf Links in Madison, Ill. In the 36 holes played Tuesday, the Saints posted team rounds of 304-287=591. Their second-round score was three over par and tied for the second-lowest score in the final round.

Freshman
Quinn Thomas led Maryville and finished tied for 14th overall at 144. He opened with a 77 but tied for the second-best score in the second round with a sparkling 67 which featured seven birdies.
Max Hsu took second for the Saints at 72+75=147.
Zach Mesplay was third at 151 (76-75), while
Javier Gil Blanco also carded a 151 with rounds of 80-71.
Andrew Rojas finished two more shots back at 153 (79-74).

Playing as an individual,
Hsiang-Chih Hsu came home at 149 after rounds of 74-75.
Inigo Epalza shot 78-73=151, while
Daniel Boyle came finished at 159 (83-76).

Drury snared the team championship at 277-290=567 in a field of 12 squads, while Bryson Oots of William Jewell took medalist honors at 135.

The Saints are next in action as they head to Smithville, Mo., for the Kansas City Cup at Paradise Point Golf Club.
