Saints Use Second-Half Push to Charge Past No. 25 UAH 13-10

HUNTSVILLE, ALA. – Playing its third straight nationally-ranked opponent, the No. 5 Maryville women's lacrosse team moved past No. 25 Alabama Huntsville 13-10. The Saints scored five straight goals for the decisive run in the second half. Natalie Tomljenovic led the Saints with four points on three goals and one assist, while Chloe Elliott also had a hat trick. Helen Bae finished with three goals and a career-high 13 draw controls, tied for the third most in program history. UAH has played an arduous early season schedule featuring five nationally-ranked teams.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UAH scored two of the first three goals of the game before the Saints responded with three straight. Natalie Tomljenovic fired in a free-position shot, and Chloe Elliott put the Saints on top on the next possession. Marissa Zeno recorded a goal to push the Maryville margin to 4-2. The Chargers scored before Helen Bae deposited her second of the day. UAH took a 6-5 lead until the Saints tallied back-to-back goals to end the half. Zeno converted a free-position chance, and Devyn Dimovitz pushed the Saints ahead 7-6 at the break.
 
UAH tied the game at 7-all before the Saints stormed ahead with five straight goals. Elliott's goal gave Maryville an 8-7 before Bae completed her hat trick. Tomljenovic scored with eight seconds left in the third for a 10-7 margin. Dimovitz found the back of the net to open up an 11-7 lead early in the fourth. Tomljenovic closed out her hat trick as Maryville went up 12-7 with seven minutes to play. The Saints defense kept UAH off the scoreboard for nearly 20 minutes before the Chargers mounted a late push.
