ST. LOUIS – The No. 5 Maryville women's lacrosse team tied program records for most goals scored and fewest goals allowed as the Saints flew by Findlay 26-1. The 26 scored matched the output April 28, 2023, at Rockhurst, while the lone goal surrendered tied the solo goal scored by Tiffin Feb. 17, 2023. In addition,
Kylie Pettus tallied the fastest goal to start a game with a score just 13 seconds into a game.
HOW IT HAPPENED
On the opening draw control, Pettus grabbed the ball, sprinted down the field and rocketed in a goal to fuel a powerful start by the Saints.
Emmery Clark scored two minutes later, and
Helen Bae tallied on back-to-back possessions, including on a player-down situation.
Marissa Zeno and
Chloe Elliott deposited goals 47 seconds apart, and
Natalie Tomljenovic converted consecutive goals. Zeno scored in the final moments of the first quarter as the Saints led 9-0.

The Saints added on to their margin with five goals in the second quarter to take a 14-0 lead into halftime. Findlay only had three total shots, with one coming on a free-position attempt. Pettus scored in the third quarter as the Maryville margin ballooned to 17-0. Findlay tallied its lone goal of the day at the 9:43 mark but the Saints stacked on nine more goals to close out the game. Bae grabbed 14 draw controls, the second most in a game in program history. Eleven different players scored a goal, and 12 players picked up at least one point in the game.
